November Monthly Newsletter

For everyone returning this week from Fall Break, we missed you! We hope you’re rested, refreshed, and ready to dance through the rest of 2021. This month’s newsletter includes some exciting announcements about upcoming events and opportunities, so read on.

Complimentary Class

Throughout November and December, the Otto M. Budig Academy invites new students of all ages to try their first class for FREE! If you know someone who's interested in trying one of the Academy's many class offerings, please direct them to the link below.

This introductory offer extends to new adult students too! Join us for a complimentary class in any one of our Adult Dance and Fitness classes at the Valentine Center for Dance. Sign up today at the link below.

Also, for the first time ever, we invite currently enrolled students to join in the free class fun. A hallmark of our expanded vision for the Otto M. Budig Academy in our new Center for Dance is the opportunity to introduce students to other dance genres beyond ballet. To that end, we invite currently enrolled students to explore a new dance style with a free single-session class in an elective offering.

Virtual Family Observation Week

Twice each year we look forward to giving our families an inside peek into their student's Academy classes. As we continue to be mindful of COVID-19 safety, our fall Observation Week will take place virtually. We can't wait to share your student's remarkable progress and offer an inside glimpse into our new studios!

Please mark your calendars for virtual observation for your dancer’s division:

December 6 - 11: Preparatory Division, Young Dancer Division, Community Division and Advanced Division

December 13 - 18: Children's Division

Further details will follow by email with individual class and level schedules and Zoom login information. We look forward to sharing class with you!

The Academy Nutcracker Suite

On Sunday, December 5, the Academy will present its very own performances of The Academy Nutcracker Suite in the Sheakley Family Premier Studio at the Margaret and Michael Valentine Center for Dance. This abbreviated version of the beloved holiday classic will feature talented performers from our Preparatory, Young Dancer, Community and Advanced Division student body. And our entire Academy community is invited to attend!

Performances will be held at 12:00 pm, 2:30 pm, and 5:00 pm. All audience members will be fully masked, and all audience members aged 12 and older will be required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test in order to enter the performance venue. Tickets will go on sale the week of November 15, and we hope you’ll save the date and plan to join us!

Rehearsals are now underway, as our students work hard to prepare for a fantastic show for our community. Parent/guardian volunteers are still needed to support these weekend rehearsal times. Please visit the link below to learn more and sign-up!

Winter Dance Camp

Ward off the winter blues with Cincinnati Ballet! We’re thrilled to announce the return this holiday season of Winter Dance Camp, December 27-29, 2021, for dancers ages 5-8. Students will chassé through the season with three days of games, crafts, and magical wintry tunes. Registration opens next week, so don’t miss this chance to dance over the holiday break!

CB Moves for Parkinson's

We’re thrilled to introduce CB Moves for Parkinson’s, a specialized dance class series designed uniquely for persons with Parkinson’s and their loved ones. Our expert faculty use movement and music to stimulate both the body and mind, providing a supportive forum for fitness, expression and community for participants of all ages.

Classes are held twice weekly (Mondays 12:00-1:15pm and Fridays 2:00-3:15 PM) on a drop-in basis, and each class is $10. Dancers are welcome to enjoy class on their own or to invite a companion to participate with them at no additional charge. Visit the link below to learn more and sign up for class.
