Soak, Stripe, Splatter

Have you had the opportunity to check out the AGA's Soak, Stripe, Splatter exhibition?

Soak Stripe Splatter features works from the AGA Collection that focus on colour as their primary element or property. From large abstract paintings to experiments in colour photography, this exhibition celebrates the bright, bold, brash and even the more sombre colours of our world. 

Take time to bring some colour into your world and enjoy the works of artists from Edmonton and around the world.

Sidney Kelsie - Call for Art


Do you have artwork by the Edmonton artist Sidney Kelsie? Works that you share will help us with an upcoming exhibition featuring his work. If you have a work by Kelsie, please take a photo of it and send us an email with your name and phone number to curatorial@youraga.ca. All responses will be kept confidential.

Ballet Edmonton opens their 2021/22 season with a new work by Artistic Director, Wen Wei Wang, to be presented live and captured on film at the Art Gallery of Alberta. This site-specific creation is inspired by the visual art featured in the gallery spaces and will take place on all three gallery levels. This collaboration will highlight the beauty of the Art Gallery and its current art installations.

Join architect Jane Ferrabee and public artist Bill Pechet in conversation on landscape in the service of care on October 17 at 2:00pm on Zoom. From the hospital to the cemetery: hear about an approach to landscape design that considers cognitive and emotional healing and that creates connections to memory through design as part of the public program for the exhibition Cornelia Hahn Oberlander: Genius Loci at the Art Gallery of Alberta.  

This exhibition is presented as part of the Poole Centre of Design.   

#AGAlive is presented by the EPCOR Heart + Soul Fund and the Canada Council for the Arts.
