Summer Intensives
We
loved seeing so many Academy students at our auditions in January and February,
and we hope to have opportunity to work with many of you this summer!
Summer is an opportunity to train more intensively with our resident faculty while broadening your horizons with exposure to renowned guest instructors. If Cincinnati Ballet is your program of choice for Summer 2020, we encourage you to register early, as we sell out every year.
Kids Dance Camp
Cincinnati Ballet’s Kids Dance Camp is a creative exploration of dance, music and art through beloved stories for students ages 4 – 8. Each week-long experience explores an overall theme through age-appropriate ballet classes and activities led by professional faculty.
During summer 2020, Kids Dance Camp celebrates the Summer of Dreams as we venture over the rainbow and under the sea to explore favorite story ballets, including The Wizard of Oz (June 1-5) , Cinderella (June 8-12) and The Little Mermaid (July 27-31). A special pre-sale for current Academy families will begin this week, announced via email!
Youth Summer Intensive
Cincinnati Ballet’s Youth Summer Intensive provides young, aspiring dancers with an entrée into intensive summer training at a pace designed specifically for their unique stage of technical development. Youth Summer Intensive will take place June 15-26 and July 6-17.
Summer placement letters with registration instructions were emailed to all students under 12 and/or Main Division Levels 1 and 2, and a special pre-sale for current Academy families is now underway.

A few other reminders:
- Parents may come
and go as needed. When entering the studio,
please wait until the current exercise is completed and the music has
stopped.
- No electronic
devices may be brought into the studio. If you need to use your cell phone,
please step into the hallway.
- For the
protection of all students, absolutely no photography or videography is
allowed during class.
Families who have students with classes in Studio D will receive an email by the end of this week to sign up for one of two dates for observation in order to accommodate seating. For everyone else, there's no sign-up required-- just join us during the week of February 24-March 1!

In late January, 12 of our upper division students represented our Academy at the Youth America Grand Prix semifinals competition in Pittsburgh. They all danced beautifully, and we're so proud of their hard work and artistry. We're especially thrilled to announce that we had three students receive recognition:
- Alexandria Yetter placed 2nd in Junior Women's Classical
- Soren Campagna placed 2nd in Senior Men's Classical
- Salome Tregre placed 3rd in Senior Women's Classical
- Alex and Soren were also invited to the finals in New York
Congratulations to all!
Please join the Academy team in thanking longtime security guard Steve Herzog for his incredible service over the years!
He’ll be venturing out to pursue an exciting new opportunity and we wish him well. While he may appear from time to time to support special projects, we’ll miss his welcome and care for our students and families on a daily basis! He’s been a remarkable member of the Cincinnati Ballet family.
We invite Academy families to help spread the word about Cincinnati Ballet's upcoming performances of Swan Lake by hanging posters in your community. Please visit the Front Desk by Friday, February 7, to receive a pack of 10 or 20 posters. For every 10 posters hung, you will receive one complimentary ticket (maximum 2 tickets per person). There are a limited number of posters to distribute, so be sure to act quickly!
Spread your wings and fly away to the beautifully tragic world of Swan Lake. The story of Odette, a princess transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer, is the epitome of classical ballet.
