The Beautiful Mysterious: The Extraordinary Gaze of William
Eggleston
, co-published by the University Museum and University Press of Mississippi, is an examination of the life and work of William Eggleston. Widely considered to be the father of color photography, Eggleston helped establish the artistic medium and has inspired photographers and artists around the world.

Edited by Ann J. Abadie, the catalog contains fifty-five Eggleston photographs, thirty-six of which were featured in The Beautiful Mysterious exhibition at the University of Mississippi Museum.

  1. Museum Preparator. Duties include: Museum building and Historic Houses maintenance, exhibition installation assistance, Carpentry Shop and Loading Dock area maintenance, tool and equipment maintenance, and light construction projects. Find out more HERE.
  2. Student Marketing Assistant. The student hired for this position will help create and implement the museum's social media presence, research and write press releases, and assist with membership. Find out more HERE.
