Reserve a FREE Online Workshop!

Thanks to support from our generous partners, including Amazon, The McLean Foundation, Y.P. Heung Foundation, the Province of British Columbia, and others, we are delighted to offer Tech-Up student workshops for FREE.

"I was nervous beforehand as I have no experience as a teacher with online workshops for kids, but things went smoothly. I appreciated being sent a list beforehand, along with a brief video for reference. We are going to take what we learned today and keep practicing, so eventually we can work on our own Scratch projects together.

- Teacher, SD 63

Grades:

2–4:  Bee Bot Bop

4–7:  Say It With Scratch

7–9:  Marvellous Micro:bits

Led by a Tech-Up facilitator from Science World (Vancouver) or The Exploration Place (Prince George), these workshops are tailored to grade level ADST curriculum connections. Students explore the fundamentals of Coding and Computational Thinking through activities supporting cross-curricular learning.

Online Tech-Up workshops connect to your class computer/projector using Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, require a stable internet connection and at least 1 device per 2 students. Check workshop link for specific tech needs.

No previous experience necessary!

OUR BIG NEW FEATURE EXHIBITION - T. rex: The Ultimate Predator

OUR BIG NEW FEATURE EXHIBITION - T. rex: The Ultimate Predator

Walk through the world millions of years ago where this gigantic creature roamed the earth with a hunter’s keen senses. Presented by RBC and White Spot Restaurants, encounter the prehistoric wonders of the late Cretaceous Period and come face-to-face with a 66-million-year-old marvel!

Roars into town February 26 at Science World.

Note: Field trips in spring 2022 have limited availability. We may not be able to fulfill all requests during this time.

Request a volunteer mentor visit to your class - we "zoom" all over BC!

SIS inspires K-12 students across BC with engaging sessions with volunteer STEM career professionals from diverse Science and Technology fields. Students have a unique opportunity to ask questions about the mentor's career path, skills and job responsibilities.

Share the opportunity!  Download a poster for a FREE online program with your teacher colleagues. We suggest printing it and sticking it up in an obvious place, but you'll know what works best for your peers!
