According to this recent report, the SBA claims to disperse Priority 1 (90% revenue loss) awards to tentatively begin last week, launching a 14-day priority period followed by a Priority 2 award disbursement process.
The SBA confirmed that there are ample funds available and eligible organizations and individuals should apply.
The SBA recently posted a new set of FAQs for SVOG Awardees that outline the process once an applicant receives an award notification.
liveformusic.com, June 1."Per NIVA, the first reports of approved applications began to trickle in last Friday. No exact numbers were confirmed and NIVA only announced that “several” members had received confirmation of approved applications, with Rolling Stone only reporting a “few” approvals."
artsactionfund.org, May 27. "Priority 1 SVOG award notifications began on May 26. They are rolling out slowly but will be ramping up with many more award notifications this week. Priority 2 award announcements will begin June 10 and Priority 3 award announcements will begin June 25.
Many applicants are finding community and a forum for troubleshooting on this Facebook page. There is much discussion as of late surrounding funding disbursement.

We are continuing to monitor for arts + creative industry sector updates. The anticipated July 1 restriction rollback will likely hasten the return of concerts, festivals, clubs and entertainment venues. Many venues are preparing to return to full capacity after July 1. However, there still remains hesitancy on the part of the public whether to return to pre-pandemic event attendance, as the latest Audience Outlook Monitor reports.
Find Alan Brown's report on the latest audience survey results here.
Key Takeaways:
Audience vaccination has likely plateaued at +/- 95%.
Resumption of demand for indoor events ranges from 45 to 70%, and varies greatly by area
Roughly 40% of vaccinated folks are not ready to go out yet, waiting for infection rates to drop to lower levels
Around 15 to 20% don’t foresee going out again until January or later, underscoring the importance of continued efforts to engage through online programs
We are learning that “herd immunity” does not mean that COVID disappears completely
We are just learning to navigate the post-vaccination world, and particularly the limits of protection afforded by vaccination
