Student Reminders

Important Dates

Monday, February 21 – Family Day

There will be no classes and the college will be closed.

February 28 – March 4 – Study Week

There will be no classes. The college will remain open and college services will be available. You are able to work full-time hours if you are on a scheduled break from the college.

Your Student Mental Health & Wellness Program

Throughout the school year, you may experience challenging personal circumstances that make it difficult to concentrate or focus on your academic studies. WeConnect is designed to directly support the needs of international students who may not be in Canada.

Tax Information

If You Are Studying Outside of Canada:

You are not required to file taxes if you are outside of Canada. You only have to submit taxes if you have stayed in Canada for more than 183 days or more in 2021.

If You Are in Canada:

Tax forms (T2202 Tuition and Education Certificate) for the 2021 year will be posted in your myCambrian portal on February 28th, 2022.

This information session on the study permit extension process will cover the following information:

  • Creating an online account with IRCC
  • Checking eligibility to apply online and creating your document checklist
  • Filling out the study permit extension application form IMM5709
  • Information on eligibility for studying and working after applying
  • Maintained Status (Implied status)
  • Immigration Q&A

Black History Month

Every February, people in Canada are invited to participate in Black History Month festivities and events that honour the legacy of Black Canadians and their communities. Visit the “Events” section of the iCent app for information on Black History Month activities.

Happy Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is one of the most important celebrations of the year among East and Southeast Asian cultures. Andy Tran is studying in our Personal Support Worker program. He is also one of the Student Interns in the International Office. Happy Year of the Tiger!
