Rhiannon Paget, Curator for Asian Art at The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, explores Hayatake Torakichi’s influential career. Woodblock prints by artists like Utagawa Yoshitora and Utagawa Kunisada II show how the Hayatake troupe blended theatrical tradition, folklore, and spectacle into dynamic performances. Paget will be signing her book Hokusai after the lecture.

Join J. Rachel Gustafson, Chief Curatorial Officer, for a talk on the history of the Norton’s Recognition of Art by Women (RAW) exhibition series. We’ll explore current research on the representation of women artists within the museum landscape and examine the impactful works of Danielle Mckinney, the 10th artist honored through the RAW program.

Join us for an accessible art workshop for the entire family! This program is for children with autism and their families, and includes interactive time in the galleries, an art workshop, free admission to the Museum, and autism supports. All participating staff members are trained to lead programs for people with autism.
