A pesar de la nieve en el suelo, marzo siempre trae la esperanza de que la primavera está a la vuelta de la esquina, lo que también significa que nuestros estudiantes están ocupados preparándose para su último recital del año en el gran escenario. Nuestros maestras son expertos en garantizar que esta experiencia sea positiva y esté llena de celebración por todo el arduo trabajo que ha llevado a la presentación. Los alentamos a que apoyen nuestros esfuerzos elogiando los preparativos que se realizan en casa y reconociendo los muchos pasos que se necesitan para alcanzar una meta.

Bravo! Vail Presto Club

El Presto Club es una oportunidad para que los estudiantes de 8 a 14 años se reúnan en conciertos selectos de la Orchestral Series para socializar, interactuar con un folleto interactivo diseñado durante los conciertos y participar en oportunidades seleccionadas de encuentro con artistas posteriores al concierto. Los estudiantes estarán bajo el cuidado y la supervisión del personal de Educación y Participación.

• Siéntense juntos en el césped para disfrutar del concierto con bocadillos y bebidas provistos, o traigan los suyos
• Reciban un folleto interactivo para ayudarlos a comprender y participar en el concierto
• Invitación al encuentro con artistas posterior al concierto
• Conozca nuevos amigos

Cómo participar

• Compre entradas para uno o más de los conciertos que se enumeran a continuación o utilice su pase para césped.
• El enlace para registrarse estará en el correo electrónico previo al concierto que se enviará el día anterior al concierto.
• Deje a los estudiantes antes del concierto y recójalos después (los padres o tutores deben estar presentes en el concierto en caso de emergencia).

Oportunidades de campamentos de música de verano

Cómo navegar entre la música y otras actividades

Uno de los desafíos que siguen surgiendo para las familias que participan en nuestro programa es cómo navegar entre conflictos con otras actividades.

Nuestro programa ofrece una sesión de clase grupal semanal durante aproximadamente 27 semanas con dos recitales obligatorios. Las clases de conjunto más avanzadas pueden durar un poco más y tener algunos recitales de extensión programados.

Debido a que nuestro programa solo se reúne una vez por semana y los estudiantes se están preparando para un evento que requiere preparativos detallados y de alto nivel, la asistencia una vez por semana es crucial para desarrollar la confianza y las habilidades que conducirán a un recital exitoso. Perder semanas de clases debido a conflictos con otras actividades, ya sean deportes, teatro u otros clubes, simplemente no es justo para el estudiante, sus compañeros de clase o la maestra. Cuando ese estudiante regresa a la clase, la maestra no puede hacer que este estudiante suba a el mismo nivel que los otros estudiantes por que están más adelantados.

Entonces, ¿qué debe hacer un estudiante? Bueno, en algún momento, si los conflictos con otras actividades interfieren con la clase de música, puede ser el momento de elegir entre las dos actividades. Un estudiante y el padre también pueden hablar con el maestro de la otra actividad para ver si se puede llegar a un acuerdo para que la asistencia a la actividad que se realiza una vez a la semana tenga prioridad sobre la actividad que se realiza varias veces a la semana.

El Teen Council se reúne una vez al mes para hablar sobre oportunidades de liderazgo y voluntariado, así como para buscar ideas para eventos sociales. El evento social será el Boliche familiar el 16 de marzo (ver arriba para registrarse).

Dear Parents and Families,

Despite the snow on the ground, March always brings the hope that spring is just around the corner, which also means that our students are busy preparing for their final recital of the year on the big stage! Our teachers are experts at ensuring this experience will be a positive one filled with celebration for all the hard work that has led up to the performance. We encourage you to support our efforts by praising any preparations happening at home recognizing the many steps it takes to reach a goal.

If a challenge in your child’s practice exceeds more than a week, please contact your teacher for additional support. Our teachers are very skilled and knowledgeable in helping students get back on track or determining the roadblock.

Family Bowling Party

Bravo! Vail Presto Club

The Presto Club is an opportunity for students ages 8-14 to gather at select Orchestral Series concerts to socialize, engage with a designed interactive booklet during concerts, and participate in curated, post-concert Artist Meet & Greet opportunities. Students will be under the care and supervision of Education & Engagement staff.

• Sit together on the lawn to enjoy concert with provided snacks and drinks, or bring your own
• Receive interactive booklet to help understand and engage with the concert
• Invitation to post-concert Artist Meet & Greet
• Meet new friends

How to Participate

• Purchase lawn tickets for one or more of the concerts listed below, or utilize your lawn pass.
• Link to sign up will be in the pre-concert email sent the day before the concert
• Drop off students before the concert and pick them up after (Parents or guardians must be in attendance at the concert in case of emergency.)

Summer Music Camp Opportunities

Navigating Music & Other Activities

One of the challenges that keeps coming up for families involved in our program is navigating conflicts with other activities.

Our program provides one weekly group class session for approximately 27 weeks with two required recitals. The more advanced ensemble classes may run a bit longer and have a few more outreach recitals scheduled.

Because our program only meets once a week, and students are preparing for an event that requires preparations at a detailed and high level, the once-a-week attendance is crucial to develop confidence and skills that will lead to a successful recital. Missing weeks of classes due to conflicts with other activities, whether it be sports, theatre, or other clubs, is just not fair to the student, their classmates, or the teacher. When that student returns to the class, the teacher is not able to catch the student up while other students are further ahead.

So what is a student to do? Well, at some point if conflicts with other activities are getting in the way of music class, it may be time to make a choice between the two activities. A student and the parent may also talk to the teacher of the other activity to see if a compromise can be made so that attendance at the once-a-week activity is prioritized over the activity that meets multiple times a week.

The Teen Council meets once a month to discuss leadership and volunteer opportunities as well as ideas for social events. The social event will be Family Bowling on March 16 (see above to sign up).
