Dear Summer Intensive Students and Families,
Thank you for your patience as we want to make acceptable alterations to our Summer Intensive plans as a direct result of COVID-19. Due to Belmont University campus closures, we are unable to offer housing at this time that will be adequate for all students. We will be making the following changes to Summer Intensive 2020 to ensure the safety for all students that choose to participate.
We have restructured the program for students based in the Greater Nashville area; at this time, it is scheduled to run June 29–July 31*. Sessions I, II, III, and IV have the option to attend three weeks June 29–July 17 or the full five weeks. Students with placement in Sessions V, VI, VII, and VIII will have the option to attend the full five-week session. We have made the change to our schedule to reduce the number of students moving in and out of our spaces during the extent of the program. *This is subject to change as we monitor the situation daily.
While the schedule is currently being finalized, you can expect the same high level of instruction you have come to expect from School of Nashville Ballet. In addition, we have created hygiene provisions in line with current CDC recommendations, including but not limited to smaller class sizes, elimination of meals on the premises, staggered class start times, various points of entry, students arriving pre-dressed in dance attire, and sanitizing procedures at the beginning and end of each class.

In an effort to keep all requests organized we have created an online form for all of your options. In this form you will find choices to allocate your payments including benefits for additional virtual options if you choose not to attend. It is important we know your plans by June 1, in an effort to accommodate all requests. If students/families are still interested in attending our program please indicate that on the form, all efforts will be made to accommodate students on a first come, first served basis depending upon availability. *Please note, we ask that students with COVID-19 related preexisting health conditions participate in this program virtually. SUBMIT YOUR FORM HERE BY JUNE 1.
For those wishing to attend, we have been in contact with our corporate housing partner and are able to put you in contact with affordable local housing. Please reach out to Kaye Keller directly and mention Bernadette Boggs and Nashville Ballet Summer Intensive when emailing her to receive special pricing. This is recommended for students over 18. Students under 18 may also use this option as long as they are staying with a parent or guardian. All students who have currently purchased housing and meals will be refunded their payments by 100%.
As a thank you for choosing Nashville Ballet and working with us through this time, we are offering all Summer Intensive 2020 students automatic acceptance into Summer Intensive 2021 with a deadline to accept by December 29, 2020. In addition, we will also waive your audition fee for Summer Intensive 2021, we will email this code and information out in the fall.
We appreciate your patience during this time, please reach out to summer@nashvilleballet.com with any questions and concerns.
Sincerely,
School of Nashville Ballet Faculty and Staff
