Celebrate community, contemplate nature in Rebecca Louise Law: Awakening

British installation artist Rebecca Louise Law brings people closer to nature, physically and emotionally, through a transformation of HoMA's upstairs galleries into an ethereal hall of found flora. The breathtaking space is more than a display: guests are transported into a monumental assemblage of delicately strung organic material, suspended in air as if frozen in time. The installation allows viewers space to consider the unique beauty of each plant and how we interact with nature in our daily lives.

Unable to ignore the pressing influence of consumerism, Law also included findings from a beach cleanup on O‘ahu's north shore. Learn more about the artist's inspiration for this site-specific installation in a six-minute short film.

See Awakening on view now, until September 2023.

Rebecca Louise Law: Awakening is presented by Hawaiian Airlines and generously supported by Tori Richard, LTD, Outrigger Hospitality Group, Neiman Marcus, Susan and Stephen Chamberlin, Jean E. Rolles, Priscilla Growney, Elizabeth Lacy, Joyce Tomonari, Lynne Johnson and Randy Moore, Linda and Bob Nichols, and Kitty and Buzz Wo. Special thanks to the I-ON Group.
