A note from Estefania García and Juan Solana, Co-chairs of the CSO Latino Alliance Advisory Board

As incoming co-chairs, it is a privilege, an honor and a responsibility to serve all the CSO Latino Alliance’s members in the upcoming 2024/25 Season and beyond. Stay tuned for another season to remember as we will have expanded offerings from symphonic music to chamber music and the works of contemporary and living composers.

About Estefania
Estefania García was born and raised in Colombia. She is a Senior Manager in the Global Category Solutions of Marketing Procurement at Abbott Laboratories. Estefania has collaborated with organizations in the past years to connect and elevate the Latino and women communities. She enjoys the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and has found an opportunity to contribute to the Latino community by engaging with music in the CSO Latino Alliance.

About Juan
Juan Solana is the Global Director, Advanced Analytics Marketing, at General Motors. Before that, he held marketing analytics positions at Walmart Inc. and Nielsen Corp. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a doctorate in economics from Purdue University. Juan joined the CSO Latino Alliance in its founding year to channel his passion for audience development, programming expansion and access to musical education for all.

A reflection from the CSO Latino Alliance’s 10th season and last 2023/24 season event
Still ringing in our ears is the crescendo and dramatic unraveling ending of Ravel’s Bolero, with which the CSO Latino Alliance topped its 10th season on June 11, 2024. There were many moments to share and treasure together, from Noche de Una Obra Maestra Méxicana to Noche Navideña, Una Tarde en Familia, Noche de Jazz and ending with Noche Alegre. Memorable was the celebration, on the evening of January 26, at Instituto Cervantes of Chicago when CSO Latino Alliance members gathered to toast to a decade of “connecting the CSO with Chicago’s diverse community by creating awareness, sharing insights and building relationships around the music for generations to come.”

Looking forward to the second decade of the CSO Latino Alliance!
