An exciting announcement | View Online
Greetings friends of Bravo! Vail. As our 2021 Festival approaches, we want to take a moment to highlight our Education & Engagement Programs, an essential component of our mission to enrich people’s lives through the power of music. These programs run year-round to bring music to children and adults in Eagle and Lake counties, and they represent the true heart of our organization.
We are excited to announce a fresh identity for our Education & Engagement Programs. The Bravo! Vail After-School Piano & Violin Program has a new name that embodies the future of music instruction for the community: Bravo! Vail Music Makers Haciendo Música.
This new name opens possibilities for the future of the instruction program by allowing for growth to new instruments and creating an easy integration into the summer Festival. Its translation in Spanish, “Haciendo Música,” reflects and is inclusive of the vibrant Latinx population in the Vail Valley community, and at its core it encapsulates everything the program aspires for young musicians to feel: I am a Music Maker!
Renaming the instruction program is the first step in a larger plan
to strategically guide its growth and evolution, which includes creating equal access to programs for every child in the county by offering piano classes at each of the nine elementary schools and violin classes at four elementary schools in Eagle County School District (ECSD) by August 2023.
“We want everyone who grows up in the Vail Valley to have access to music lessons and great performances. This new name and accompanying vision seek to expand offerings and lower barriers of entry for joining the program,” said Executive Director Caitlin Murray.
ECSD Superintendent Philip Qualman voiced his support for the plan.
"ECSD is excited about the planned expansion of instrumental music instruction in our elementary schools. Bravo! Vail has a proven track record of reaching out to elementary students to create a deep appreciation for the arts and inspire a new generation of musicians and patrons. We are fortunate to share in this great opportunity and look forward to another amazing season of Bravo! Vail."
Consider a donation to Bravo! Vail’s Education & Engagement Programs to help support the expansion of music education in the Vail Valley and beyond. Every contribution goes toward the power of self-expression and shaping a new generation of passionate artists.
After finishing a year like no other, we are immensely proud of our dedicated students for persevering despite the circumstances. We look forward to the return of in-person lessons this fall, and we celebrate every student, parent, and friend involved in pushing onward to continue the very best music education for residents of Eagle and Lake counties. Thank you for making this possible!
If you or someone you
know is interested in enrolling a student in the Bravo! Vail Music Makers
program for the 2021-22 academic year, please email education@bravovail.org for more

to students grades 2 - 5 and begins Monday, August 2, at 10:00AM through bravovail.org.
At Bravo! Vail, we appreciate good art and music in any setting. The Tippet Rise Art Center in Fishtail, Montana, has long been a source of inspiration for its austere beauty and wide-open spaces, making a wonderfully blank natural canvas for artistic creativity.
Tonight, Thursday, May 20, Tippet Rise premieres the film "Land & Sky - The Inspiration of Tippet Rise," a nod to this unique place that includes a performance from Bravo! Vail Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott. Join Anne-Marie, Tippet Rise co-founders Peter and Cathy Halstead, Tippet Rise Artistic Advisor Pedja Muzijevic, and filmmaker Hamid Shams for a live Zoom conversation at 5:30PM MDT, followed by the film's premiere at 6:00PM MDT. Go to tippetrise.org to join the event.
Our May playlist features music for the whole family, from Prokofiev’s fairytale Peter and the Wolf to Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite. We hope you will take a moment to dance, sing, and conduct along with some of our favorite famous classical music works!
FirstBank proudly supports Bravo! Vail, who brings music to life for our community. Their commitment to inspire, engage, and educate through music echoes FirstBank's mission of "banking for good".
