Hubbard Street is proud to have been part of Dance for Life since its inception.

The very first Dance for Life Chicago — held on August 8, 1992 — sold out all 400 seats in the Organic Theater. Hubbard Street’s main company was on tour at the time, but each dancer generously donated his or her day’s salary to the cause of fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic. We’re proud to have been part of this important event each and every summer since.

One week from tonight on Saturday, August 20 at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, we’ll share the stage with our colleagues from the Joffrey Ballet, Giordano Dance Chicago, Visceral Dance Chicago and Chicago Dance Crash — along with guest MCs Carisa Barreca and Tim Mason from The Art of Falling — in celebration of Dance for Life’s first 25 years.

Performance tickets start at just $15 and groups of ten or more save 20% on tickets purchased at $25–$75 levels. All proceeds benefit The Dancers’ Fund and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago to help prevent new transmissions of HIV, support efforts to eradicate AIDS, and assist members of Chicago’s diverse dance communities, as they face critical health issues and overcome their financial hardships.

Dance with us. Dance for Life.
