Valentine’s Day, Black History Month, and Lunar New Year all invite connections—through love, remembrance, and community. Deepen those connections with a visit to the Museum's free Lunar New Year Community Day, try a potato-stamping lesson, or register early for Kids Summer Art Camp.

Free Community Day: Lunar New Year on Saturday, February 21, 11am–5pm

And we're off! Race on down to the Year of the Fire Horse, a once-every-60-years Lunar New Year occurrence. This modern-day celebration honors traditions from around the globe. Enjoy a festive event for all ages featuring art-making activities, cultural demonstrations, and live performances. View here for early member entry.

Summer of Love: Kids + Teens Love Summer Art Camp 

Empower young artists to explore their love of creativity through a week-long summer art camp session. Early registration for SJMA members at the Family level or above begins today, February 4. General registration opens February 11. San José city residents in financial need may also apply for a scholarship.

Receiving the Receiver: Unwrapping a Giant

Robot, alien, or hero? This two-faced androgynous bronze sculpture with pink polished toes pays homage to a deity. Receiver by artist Huma Bhabha, weighs 780-pounds, is just over 8-feet tall without the base, and 25 by 11 inches around.
