Created in 2006, Edmonton's NextGen is an initiative of the City of Edmonton. NextGen is powered by a group of next gen community and civic leaders and volunteers working together to create a city that attracts and gives voice to the next generation.

NextGen seeks unique ways to encourage the next gen demographic to volunteer and give back to their community, explores ideas that connect people to their city and each other and are catalyzers of ideas and connections!

JUDGE ME YEG, a project under the Edmonton RISE hub of APATHY IS BORING, invites you to our Video Launch Party

The Judge Me If You Can video project is a social experiment that challenges the first impressions made by strangers about their peers.

Through confronting the assumptions that we make based off of appearances, we break the barriers that leave our communities exclusive and citizens of Edmonton disconnected. By encouraging others to face their internalized stigmas and biases towards others, we create a space where individuals can truly connect and share their true stories through our project.

Provide your feedback on the former Royal Alberta Museum building!

The Provincial Museum and Archives of Alberta was built in 1965 in Edmonton’s Glenora neighbourhood. It opened to the public in 1967 as Alberta celebrated Canada’s Centennial of Confederation. The museum and archives were separated in 2003 when the Provincial Archives of Alberta moved to its own building.

The feedback the Government of Alberta Infrastructure receives will help make an informed decision about the future of the Glenora building.

Become an Ambassador…and RISE with Apathy is Boring!

Applications are open for the next group of young people looking to make a difference in their communities in #Edmonton, #Ottawa, #Montreal and #Toronto! Deadline to apply is June 10th.

RISE Ambassadors are the lead creatives behind the community project taking place in each city. They will research topics to develop ideas for a community project and work in a group to decide on one project to execute and evaluate. This group will be led by the local project coordinator.

These surveys are currently being conducted by the City of Edmonton.
