LIGHTS OUT!

Bruce Munro at Montalvo: Stories in Light

From October 28 to March 17, we experienced epic and record-breaking attendance at the West Coast premiere of our spectacular exhibition, Bruce Munro at Montalvo: Stories in Light!

More than 43,000 people came from across the country—and the world!—to marvel at the multi-hued waves, clusters, cascades, flocks, and seas of illumination that transformed Montalvo into a breathtaking spectacle of light.

During the exhibition:

  • 13,070 visitors drove more than one hour to see the exhibit
  • Nearly 5,000 students and their teachers engaged in our student extensions program
  • 48 amazing docents contributed nearly 900 volunteer hours
  • This extraordinary exhibition even inspired 4 romantic marriage proposals!

Stories in Light is the most ambitious public program Montalvo has ever presented. To those of you who came -- THANK YOU. We are so glad you saw the light, and we hope you come back to visit us again very soon for a performance, a conversation, an art class, or one of our many other events.

Donor Appreciation Parties Celebrate You!

Donor Appreciation Parties

One of the many benefits of being a Montalvo donor is that you get invited to some of our fabulous Donor Appreciation Parties both at Montalvo and in the beautiful private homes of our closest friends, with wine, entertainment, and food.

In January, we hosted a lively bash in the Villa for supporters at the Griffin level and above, while even more parties are on the calendar for higher level donors -- with two coming up in April and June. If you haven't received an invitation for these, it might mean it's time for you to move up to the next level. For more information, contact Membership Operations Manager Taylor Welty so you can upgrade and get your name on that RSVP list today!
