Staging Our Return!

A RETURN TO OUR STAGE

On November 19 we return to our indoor theatre space at the Hopkins Center for the Arts for the first time since March 12, 2020. Although we have not stopped producing theatre experiences for our audiences over the last 19 months, we have not been able to welcome you to a show on our main stage. The time has come at last! And we can’t wait to celebrate the holidays with you and Elf the Musical, Jr. running through December 27, 2021. Join in our joyous return as we spread holiday cheer by singing loud for all to hear!

FALL EDUCATION RETURNS TO FULL PROGRAMMING

On September 18 Stages Theatre Company's Education Programs returned to our full roster of indoor and in-person classes. More than 250 students from ages 3-17 engaged in acting, singing, and dancing classes taught by 30 teaching artists and assistants at the Hopkins Center for the Arts and PIM Arts High School. Over the last 18 months our Education Department never stopped finding ways to stay connected to our students through virtual, hybrid, and outdoor classes. We are overjoyed to offer full programming once again. Our Fall classes run until December and registration for our Winter classes is currently open. Look for our Winter Break Workshops (December 20-30) opening registration in October.

All Together Now at Stages Theatre Company

ALL TOGETHER NOW!

November 13, 2021 • 7PM

Stages Theatre Company joins theatres across the globe in a return to in-person, indoor theatre productions! Stages Theatre Company was not alone in shutting down our venue. Large and small venues from coast to coast, from Broadway on down, were shuttered on March 13, 2020, and most have remained closed. Until now! In celebration, Musical Theatre International (MTI) is sponsoring a worldwide event celebrating local theatre. This brand-new, exclusive musical revue featuring songs from MTI’s beloved collection will be performed in the Stages lobby at the Hopkins Center for the Arts on November 13 at 7PM. The one-night only fundraising event will feature Stages performers past and present, our FAIR school students, our Youth Council members, and a few surprise guests. Come celebrate as we open our theatre door to a live audience!

RACIALLY CONSCIOUS COLLABORATION

RACIALLY CONSCIOUS COLLABORATION

On September 21 and 22 Stages Theatre Company’s staff, board, and affiliate partners met in two virtual sessions with Tony Hudson, president, and founder of Racially Conscious Collaboration for the foundational seminar on centering people and race. We were introduced to effective and accessible tools, training, and coaching for productive conversations about systemic racism, paving the way for systemic transformation at Stages Theatre Company.

“We plan to continue to work with Racially Conscious Collaboration through our upcoming strategic and long-range planning, and mission driven work to provide young people with a more racially conscious theatre for young audiences.” –Artistic Director, Sandy Boren-Barrett
