Dear Friends and Supporters of Philadelphia Theatre Company,

What an incredible past few months it’s been! First, in September, we took over Broad Street with Little Amal, the 12-foot tall puppet who has become a global symbol for hope and peace. Working with Broad Street Ministry, Philly PACK, Batala Philly, and the City of Philadelphia, PTC put on a show to remember! It was an honor to bring Little Amal to Philly, to work with our new amazing community partners, and to bring such a beautiful artistic experience to the city.

Then: the fantastic, Barrymore-recommended Macbeth in Stride: a new musical written and starring one of the best theatrical minds working today, Whitney White. You can say you saw it before it heads to New York! And the events we did to supplement the production were equally extraordinary: Black Theatre Night with Theatre Philadelphia; the sold-out student matinee with Lincoln High School, Sacred Heart Academy, CAPA, and Baldi Middle School (among others!) all in attendance; and the  post-show discussion featuring Pulitzer-Prize winner James Ijames and Whitney, where they discussed Broadway, Shakespeare, and the state of the American theatre (a link to the video is provided below).

And the future looks just as thrilling: up next, in February, the Pulitzer prize-winning Cost of Living, directed by PTC’s resident artist Jeffrey Page, who directed last season’s smash hit, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill. Get your tickets now! And then in March – as you might see in the video above – we are having a baby boy! Recommendations for day-care and the best strollers are welcome.

In the meantime, thank you so much for supporting Philadelphia Theatre Company! In this season of holiday giving, we hope you’ll consider making a donation to PTC, to support the fantastic art on stage, our work in Philadelphia schools, and in our community.

Happy holidays and see you in 2024! We love it here!
