South Asian Literature & Art Festival
Save the Date: South Asian Literature & Art Festival
Join us on Sunday, October 6 from 12-5pm as we present the Bay Area's first South Asian Literature & Art Festival in collaboration with Art Forum SF and the UC Berkeley Institute of South Asian Studies.
Celebrating contemporary reflections of literature and arts from South Asia, the event will feature books and readings, hands-on art activities, writing programs, art exhibitors, folk artists, Bollywood pop-up dancers, bhangra rhythms, and dance interludes — all interspersed with delicious food stations representing the flavors of the entire subcontinent.
In addition, you’ll have a chance to see 15 local, national, and international authors and artists, who will present keynotes and and on-stage sessions in the Carriage House Theatre throughout the day. And be sure to stop by the Project Space for an exhibition of contemporary Indian art curated by Sunderlande.
This all-ages festival is perfect for the whole family. Come and spend the day with us!

Summer Luncheons on the Veranda
Keeping the Villa beautiful
This week, our amazing Montalvo Service Group (MSG) hosted its final Summer Luncheon of the year on the front veranda of the Villa. The volunteers in the MSG dedicate hundreds of hours each year to Montalvo, and at these luncheons they serve nearly 1,000 patrons with a smile over the course of the summer.
Did you know that funds from MSG events go towards supporting Montalvo’s Villa restoration fund? This fund dedicates resources to projects ranging from water pipe replacement to elevator and roof repair to updates of our electrical circuiting. The next MSG events are our annual Yuletide Marketplace and Teas from November 15-17; don't miss your chance to help keep the Villa beautiful while enjoying an early holiday celebration!
If you'd like to do your part throughout the year, it's easy: just become a donor through the link below! Your support will help maintain the beautiful Villa and grounds, plus fund all of the arts and education programs we offer to the community. A gift of any size can go a long way.
