A Message from Musica Viva in Schools

In the face of the challenging situation surrounding COVID-19, the health and safety of our community – including our musicians, teachers and students – is our highest priority.

Music Viva understands that schools are dealing with unprecedented issues and we are closely following the advice of the Australian Government. We will continue to reassess our Musica Viva in schools offering as the situation for schools unfolds, providing updates and options accordingly.

In the meantime, we hope that this newsletter will offer you some digital alternatives for our rapidly changing school environments and open possibilities of remote learning.

Online Resources

Moving to a digital classroom? Check out some free and interactive resources to help your students continue their music education from afar!

Our resources are easy to implement and closely linked with the Australian curriculum to ensure that your students are staying on track with their learning outcomes.

Our digital resource suite, Musicassentials, assists both generalist and specialist teachers to scaffold simple musical ideas into a term of learning using a range of activities and multimedia resources. Our modules are suitable for Foundation to Year 8 and cover a wide range of topics including simple composition, Irish folk songs, traditional Turkish dance and more.

To help the transition into remote and digital learning, we are making four of our most popular modules available for free via our online platform. Simply visit musicavivainschools.com.au and log in using the credentials provided to gain access.
