FEBRUARY 2020

President's Message, Jean Felder

Duckies are on their way to Orange County for a Committees-wide Ducky Regatta.

Ducks will go on sale in March. Single Ducks, Quack Packs and Mega Flocks will be available.

More details next month.  Get your teams ready.

Everyone will have a quackin’ good time.

We have made it through 2020 and we have hope that there is an end to the pandemic. Good news for all of us. The Music Mobile will soon make its virtual debut. Enjoyable fundraisers are being planned. Four Committees have completed their fundraisers.

Two of the fundraisers took place in January. The wonderful author, Lisa See, made a return visit via Zoom presented by Santa Ana and Town and Country Committees. A delightful cooking class with Chef David was presented by La Casa Committee. The fundraisers have been beautifully done and everyone involved should be very proud of their successes. As always, Sarah and Heather have given expert and very welcome technical assistance. We have come a very long way with Zoom meetings and online fundraising. There are even unexpected benefits from the Zoom meetings. Speakers like Lisa See seemed to be speaking personally to each person in her audience.

More fundraisers are being planned. Very soon we will have some fun with a series of regional ducky races culminating in a final race in May. They will take place in swimming pools and involve all the members and as many teams as possible.

The Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee is planning a wine tasting with premium wines with the Seal Beach Group taking the lead.

The Inaugural Golf Classic has been moved to September 20.

We are about $5,000.00 away from meeting the $25,000.00 match for the Music4Kids fund. Please consider a donation to complete the matching funds.

The flyers are included in this newsletter and always on the Philharmonic Society's website. The new, easy to use website will be available very soon.

I hope all of you are keeping safe and staying healthy.

"Moving On Up"

The Philharmonic Society office moved. The new address is 1124 Main St., Suite B, Irvine, CA 92614. Telephone numbers will not change.
