Summer's warming up, and just like your favourite festival playlist, June is packed with brilliant moments in music! Our third edition of BBC Introducing from The Glasshouse featured headliner Melanie Baker and we're already looking ahead to July's showcase with George Boomsma which is on sale now.

Our Artists in Residence are now ready to light up the stage: Frankie Archer, ako, and Natalie Sharp will be bringing powerful, genre-blurring performances to our spaces, sharing their bold new work with audiences throughout June. 

And don't forget that our British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) clinics are available to book. The next clinic will take place on Friday 13th June from 10am - 3pm. Book your appointment here.

Soprano Choral Scholarship

St Barnabas’ Church, Ealing are looking to appoint a Soprano Choral Scholar for the 2025 - 2026 academic year: the post is fixed-term from 1st September 2025 - 31st July 2026 with the possibility for renewal. This post will be remunerated on a self-employed basis.

A callout from Sibling Arts C.I.C. who are looking for performances and workshops for Arts Action Festival taking place on Saturday 25th October 2025 at Rich Mix in East London. The festival celebrates the crossover between arts and social action, so any creative ideas tailored to this are welcome to apply.

Sound and Music Commission 2025

Sound and Music Commission 2025 is written in white against a tan background

British Arts Council are looking for six composers or music creators based in the UK and ODA (official development assistance countries) to co-create a new work for radio to be broadcast in Autumn 2025. Three UK-based composers and three composers from ODA countries will be selected to form collaboration pairs. Each composer will be paid a £1500 commission fee.

Classically Black 2025: The Next Movement

Black Lives in Music are offering the opportunity for early-career classical musicians and composers from under-represented backgrounds to perform at Kings Place in London on Saturday 18th October as part of Classically Black. Classically Black is a one day event celebrating Black and global majority excellence in classical music. Selected artists will showcase their talent in front of music industry professionals.

Deadline: Wednesday 18th June 2025

Launchpad Connect

Applications are now open for Launchpad Connect. The programme's aim is to empower existing or aspiring artists and music professionals with the skills and knowledge to navigate a career in music whilst also building an important peer support network.

Alan James Creative Bursary & Residency Programme

Applications are now open for The English Folk Dance and Song Society's Creative Bursary and Residency Programme. The programme aims to support artists in exploring new creative ideas inspired by and sourced from traditional folk music relating to England. Three bursaries will be awarded, and once again EFDSS are partnering with The Glasshouse International Centre for Music to offer residency space for one project in Gateshead.

Ludlow Song Young Composers Workshop 2025

Ludlow Song are looking for young composers, aged 16 to 25, living anywhere in the UK, who are facing financial barriers to their musical practice to take part in a free, expenses-paid workshop in September this year. It will explore English song: music for voice and piano with text in the English language.

Amplify

Amplify is a talent development programme aimed at supporting early to mid-career musicians and people working in the music sector in the Bradford district. Successful applicants will receive a development grant of £750, mentoring, industry masterclasses and more.

Funding

The Birthplace Fund

Internationally acclaimed Welsh music-maker and producer Novo Amor has partnered with Beacons Cymru to deliver this ground-breaking initiative. The fund, totalling £25,000, is the first of its kind in Wales - aiming to free creators and give them the time and resources needed to focus on developing their craft. Open to individuals aged 18-35 who currently reside in Wales.

Early Career Promoter Fund

The Early Career Promoter Fund offers grants of up to £3,500 along with capacity building support to promoters with the aim of bolstering the local, regional, and national ecosystems.

Balance, Not Burnout
