Exciting news, music fans: a new concert in our intimate Carriage House Theatre has been unveiled! Raul Malo, frontman of the genre-defying band The Mavericks, will be performing his incomparable country/punk/Latin/rockabilly style solo on Wednesday, May 15 at 7:30pm.
Malo has penned timeless hits like “Here Comes the Rain,” “Crying Shame,” and “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down.” From his earliest days, when his raucous sound broke ground at the punk clubs on Miami Beach, Malo has had a demonstrable skill for getting people to groove. His Montalvo concert is sure to have you “Danc(ing) the Night Away” in the Carriage House Theatre aisles!

For all of you planners out there, it's time to start marking your calendar for March at Montalvo! Here are three great ideas for events coming up that you won't want to miss:
Bruce Munro at Montalvo: Stories in Light will be winding down before you know it, with the last night of the exhibition on Sunday, March 17. If you haven't seen this show, what are you waiting for? And if you've already come, gather some friends together to come and enjoy this amazing experience one more time.
On Sunday, March 24 at 7pm, don't miss the performer that the Honolulu Star-Advertiser calls "one of the greatest island songwriters of his generation," Henry Kapono and the Dukes On Sunday Band.
Kapono is a gifted vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, composer, and thrilling performer with a multitude of accolades to his name, include 14 Na Hoku Awards and a Grammy nomination. His original songs celebrate his love for his family and express his pride in his Hawaiian culture.
On Monday, March 25 at 6pm, discover the Power of Whirling with instructor Racquel Santiago of Alchemy Spinning.
This class is an entry point for anybody curious about the relationship between mind and movement. Inspired by Sufi dervishes and other whirling dances of the world, this practice takes your body, mind, and spirit through a journey of self-discovery and greater potential. You will be guided through dance, movement, and contemplative whirling practices.
Are you aware of all the great perks Montalvo donors get? These include exclusive parties, free or discounted tickets to certain events, and wine receptions at select Carriage House Concerts.
To entice you to join our community of donors, we've got a special offer: make a gift in the next week, and we will treat you to a glass of wine at any of these upcoming concerts: the Yellowjackets (February 21), Banda Magda (February 23), or Henry Kapono (March 24). Just donate at any level through the button below, then buy tickets to any of those three shows and we will be in touch about your free drink. Cheers!
