Welcome to the Public Humanities @ Yale monthly e-newsletter.
In our November issue, we invite you to listen to a conversation between American Studies 2nd year graduate student Sylvia Ryerson and Dean of Davenport Ryan Brasseaux about the "Introduction to Public Humanities" course, which Ryan is teaching this year for the 7th time. Sylvia took the course in fall, 2018, a member of the class that created the very successful final collaborative project, "Deep Roots," sharing stories behind some of New Haven's most beloved restaurants.
Events coming up in November and December are listed below. We very much look forward to seeing you there.
Podcast | Introduction to Public Humanities Sylvia Ryerson interviews Ryan Brasseaux about his experience teaching this annual class, which involves both undergraduates and graduate students and results in a public project centered on New Haven life, created from scratch in 14 weeks each fall.
