Dear CBA Families,
We hope everyone is healthy and staying motivated during this unprecedented time! We miss our families and students terribly and are working hard to create a video library of classes for students to access on YouTube. We are hoping this will help our students keep in shape and give them something fun to do in their homes. CBA will send an email soon with details on this exciting project.
Included in this newsletter is CBA’s official communication regarding COVID-19 that was sent to our families on March 20, 2020. Please check your email frequently for updates. We will communicate changes including any possibilities of rescheduling classes and tuition options with you as soon as we are able.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we move through this current situation together. We are so grateful for our families and students, and while we know this is challenging for all, we hope you are able to enjoy your time together and create wonderful memories. What better opportunity to teach creativity, flexibility and self-motivation—all important skills in dance and life!
Wishing health and happiness,
Erica Fischbach
Colorado Ballet Academy Director
Dear Colorado Ballet Academy Students and Families,
In light of the current COVID-19 situation and following guidelines set forth by the state and nationally, Colorado Ballet Academy will remain closed through April 18th.
We understand the serious effects this will have on our Artists, School, Faculty and Students. All of us are waiting to see how our lives will be impacted by this situation. Our top priority is keeping our students and communities safe. Many employment sectors are taking a ‘hit,' and the performing arts are at great risk. Performance revenue and class fees are two major income streams for Colorado Ballet. We are doing our best to support our artists, faculty and staff as well as our students during this time.
As the situation continues to develop, we will be assessing our ability to safely open our doors again to our students. We are currently planning for three possible scenarios, all dependent on restrictions mandated by the Governor and Mayor. We are considering our options of returning April 20th, May 11th and, in the worst case, not returning until our summer sessions begin in June. As of now our Summer Camps and Summer Intensives will remain as scheduled.
During the closures, we will be offering online options for classes for all of our students to remain active and in-shape while practicing proper social distancing. Many of our teachers have already offered short routines on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Be sure to follow for more fun updates! In the coming weeks we will be sending out full length, level appropriate classes taught by our CBA faculty.
We understand that this situation is impacting everyone, including our families. As the situation continues to unfold, we will work to provide financial options that are equitable for all families while keeping the best interest of the entire Colorado Ballet community in mind. When a final decision has been made regarding our date to reopen we will be in touch with detailed options.
We are heartbroken to be away from our beloved CBA students and families for such a long period of time. Our Colorado Ballet community is strong, and we are confident that the support of our amazing families, faculty and staff will carry us through this uncertain time.
Thank you for your support and dedication to Colorado Ballet Academy
Youth America Grand Prix held its Denver regional competition from February 29 - March 1 at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts. Nearly 60 CBA students competed in four ensembles, classical and contemporary solos, and a Pas de Deux. CBA took home the prestigious Outstanding School award along with 1st place Ensemble, 2nd place Classical Senior Women, 1st place Contemporary Senior Women, 3rd place Pas de Deux and nine top honored placements! CBA has been invited to compete in the NY Finals with two ensembles, two classical solos and the Pas de Deux. Please note that the YAGP NY Finals have been postponed until further notice. The YAGP officials are working diligently to explore several different scenarios as an alternative option to the Finals. We will update CBA's YAGP families as soon as we know more.
We are so proud of all of our students’ performances at the regional competition. Everyone danced beautifully! For detailed results, please visit yagp.org.
