Art Industry Night

April 18, 5-7pm

Artists and arts professionals from equity-seeking communities - you are invited to Art Industry Night at your AGA, a networking event in partnership with CARFAC Alberta. 

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with fellow artists, curators and arts professionals within the field and beyond.  Snacks are provided and beer and wine are available at our cash bar. Experience illuminating conversation and good vibes in a casual and inclusive setting. 

Art Industry Night is organized by the AGA’s Equity Committee in partnership with CARFAC Alberta.  



Save the Date: Mother's Day Brunch

May 12, 11am and 1pm

Make this Mother’s Day a masterpiece at the AGA! Indulge in our delicious buffet, featuring a Chef-attended roast Baron of Beef carving station. 

Picassos of all ages are welcome to unleash their creativity with children’s crafts, while you strike a pose at our picture-perfect photo backdrop. General admission to the galleries is included.  

There are two seating times available: 11am and 1pm.

Women of the AGA: Celebrating 100 Years of Achievement

Women of the AGA: Celebrating 100 Years of Achievement is now open at YMCA Edmonton! In honour of the AGA’s 100th Anniversary, this popup exhibition celebrates trail-blazing women artists in the AGA Collection. Register for a public viewing time and learn more about the exhibition below:

Cinema for Seniors

April 12, 2-4pm

Join us for a Cinema for Seniors screening of This Beautiful Fantastic (2016)! This screening takes place in our theatre in our Lower Level, and is followed by a 30-minute discussion, tea and treats.

Tickets are $5 or free with our Barrier Free ticket.

About This Beautiful Fantastic (2016): Set against the backdrop of a beautiful London garden, the story is a contemporary fairy tale. Facing eviction in a month if she can't resurrect the dying garden in her backyard, reclusive librarian Bella Brown meets her grumpy next-door neighbor, who happens to be a talented horticulturalist.

Comic and Zine Fair

April 13 and 14, 11am-5pm

Join us for our 3rd annual Comic and Zine Fair! Featuring local artists working in comics, zines, multiples and other print media, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Browse our vendors’ displays, take part in art activities and pick up a few collectible treasures to give away or keep for yourself!

This market will take place in the Atrium of the AGA and does not include admission to the rest of the gallery; visitors are welcome to drop by Guest Services to receive admission.

All Day Sunday 

April 14, 12-4pm

In this special edition of All Day Sunday, join us for the opening of our Children’s Gallery - Probably, Plausibly, Possibly - by designer Jaime Calayo. Kids and families step into a time machine where they listen to and hear what is happening in a future world.

With audio collages and kid collaborations, this exhibition imagines what the AGA might look like another 100 years into the future.

Teen Night: Medieval Faire

April 19, 5-8 pm

Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all teens! 

You are invited to Teen Night: Medieval Faire! Inspired by Medieval and Renaissance Faires, this event includes a friendly tournament, pageantry, art activities and more!  Costumes are encouraged! 

Teen Night is planned and organized by the AGA’s Youth Council.

Seniors Tour: Aïda Muluneh and Meryl McMaster: Ebb & Flow 

April 26, 2-3pm

Join us for a Seniors’ Tour of new exhibition Aïda Muluneh and Meryl McMaster: Ebb & Flow.  Led by curator Lindsey Sharman, this program will give you an in-depth understanding of the work on display and is created just for seniors and lifelong learners.
