SEPTEMBER 2020 NEWSLETTER

This September will see changes at Dance4 including the appointment of new Executive Director, Emma Hayes, as Rachel Emmett steps down after nearly 30 years with us. We will also be announcing the appointment of the new Artist Leader role later this month.

We're delighted to share our first event back at iC4C, the release of our latest issue of 4WORDS, our annual Centre for Advanced Training audition and more opportunities throughout the month.

HIGHLIGHTS

DANCE4 SENIOR TEAM UPDATE

Autumn 2020 will see some changes in Dance4's senior team.

Our Executive Director, Rachel Emmett, is stepping down after 28 years. We wish her every success and thank her for her tireless commitment and leadership since our very early days. We're delighted to announce Emma Hayes, currently General Manager at People Dancing, will take up the role in October.

Our Programme Director, Hannah Sharpe, is on maternity leave and her role will be covered in part by Lucie Mirkova, in partnership with DanceXchange where she is Head of Artistic Programmes.

We will be making an announcement shortly about our Artist Leader role. This temporary position will form part of our senior team from September to February, contributing to our research into artist leadership and our desire to address the imbalance of power of the independent artist in decision making within Dance4.

4WORDS ISSUE 5 RELEASED

We're delighted to announce the fifth issue of our freesheet 4WORDS is now available to read both online and in print.

This issue brings together a collection of voices from choreographers, photographers and participants. Sharing reflections from the last decade, they demonstrate how the power of collaboration and creativity can be used to provoke and quietly shift the perpectives of people, places and dance.
