Join us for an electrifying Live Stream!

Join BC Hydro and Science World to learn about how we're powered by water in BC and why it’s so important to conserve energy. Expect fun demos including a hovercraft demo and a watermelon drop, and hear from an electrical engineer at BC Hydro.

Tune in to Science World's Facebook page to watch live, and ask questions to the presenters, on Thursday, April 8 at 1:00pm. Look for an archive of this session available a few days later on Science World's Youtube page.

Calling All Future Science Leaders!

Do you know a high school student who enjoys science, technology, engineering, art & design, math or all of the above? Registration for Science World's 2021-2022 Future Science Leaders program--our 11th year!--is open now.

This program is designed to engage curious teens with the nature of science, unleash creative potential, and build a life-long network of like-minded peers. FSL has been nurturing young science enthusiasts for a decade.

In FSL, there was a focus on learning through asking questions. Everyone would ask questions. There was always time to ask questions. Now, when I’m in class, instead of taking notes, I just write down questions.

- Stephanie Q, FSL 2019

The Future Science Leaders program meets weekly in either Surrey or Vancouver where they learn essential scientific skills, meet experts and innovators and apply their new knowledge. Financial assistance is available for those who need it. Applications are due May 1, 2021.
