May is our all-digital dance month, and we love seeing you live from your living rooms! Or should we say home studios?! You all have done a remarkable job transitioning to virtual classes and we’re here to keep you inspired and moving all month long.
We made some big announcements last month regarding the
end of the Academy Year and Spring Production. If you missed them, check out
this special message from Academy Director, Sarah Hairston:
At the Otto M. Budig Academy, we
firmly believe living room stages are the birthplace of greatness and we have
no doubt you’re putting on an exceptional performance for your loved ones at
home. Family members always have and always will be our biggest fans!
We’re thrilled to continue dancing with you as we connect our improvised home
studios with yours and are sending some extra content your way for the month of
May.
New Virtual Class Offerings:
• Zoom Workshops for Main Division students featuring Bun 101 or Stage Makeup, Dance History, and Dancer Q&As with Cincinnati Ballet Company Dancers
• Elective Offerings via Zoom for Levels 1 and up including Musical Theater, Variations and Modern
• Seminars for Levels 3 and up on Stage Lighting and Dance Production featuring Cincinnati Ballet's Production Team

As we wrap up the year online, we’ll begin working on account adjustments in the month of May. Don’t forget to complete the form below to tell us how you’d like to handle your tuition adjustment!
In light of the cancellation of Spring Production, please help us know how you prefer we handle your ticket purchase. All Spring Production ticket buyers were sent an email on Friday, April 24, with a survey of options for your tickets. We thank you in advance for your response!

While the 2019-2020 Academy Year is coming to a close, we already have big plans in place for next year. We look forward to welcoming you back for the 2020-2021 Season!
Priority Registration
All current Academy families receive exclusive priority access to registration for the 2020-2021 Academy Year. We anticipate opening enrollment in early June, and we’ll be in touch with further details.
Placement and Evaluations
Children’s Division: Children’s Division students will receive their level placement with the opening of the priority registration period in early June. CD students are primarily placed by age.
Main Division: Main Division students will receive their year-end evaluations and level placements at the end of this month. In lieu of in-person evaluations, Level 5 – 7 students will receive sign-up options for a Zoom meeting to discuss their evaluation and placement with select Academy faculty.
All of this will come via email, so keep an eye on your inbox!
We’re committed to maintaining as much summer programming as possible in an effort to serve our students well. With health and safety remaining a top priority, we may make adjustments to programs throughout the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience as we work swiftly to consider all involved.

Still looking to enroll? Let us know what program you’re interested in so we can support you! As we monitor class sizes and distancing recommendations, we may have wait lists for some programs so we can be sure to provide a safe experience.
