HONOLULU MUSEUM OF ART AND HAWAIIAN AIRLINES® BANK OF HAWAII WORLD ELITE MASTERCARD® PARTNER TO PROVIDE FREE COMMUNITY ACCESS TO THE ARTS

Sept. 20 Community Sunday celebrates Hawaiian History Month with performances, art-making, and gallery experiences

HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I—The Honolulu Museum of Art (HoMA) today announced a new partnership with the Hawaiian Airlines® Bank of Hawaii World Elite Mastercard®. The new presenting sponsor of Community Sunday allows the museum to offer free admission for kama‘āina and engaging programming on the third Sunday of every month.

Together, the organizations are investing in one of HoMA’s longest-running community programs, helping more residents to experience art, enjoy live performances, participate in art-making activities, and spend time together at a beautiful museum that has been a place of learning and discovery for the people of Hawai‘i for almost 100 years.

“Community Sunday reflects our belief that everyone in Hawai‘i deserves opportunities to pause, reconnect, and find inspiration through art,” said David Odo, director and CEO of HoMA. “We are grateful for partners who share our commitment to creating welcoming spaces where families, friends, and neighbors can come together and recharge through meaningful encounters with art at a true gathering place for this community.”

“The arts have the power to strengthen our sense of community and spark new perspectives, said Joy Ishiara, EVP and Executive Director Brand & Integrated Marketing at Bank of Hawai‘i. “We’re honored to partner with the Honolulu Museum of Art to support Community Sunday and help ensure that more Hawaiʻi residents have access to inspiring cultural experiences in a welcoming environment. This partnership reflects our promise to invest in programs that enrich the lives of our customers and communities.”
