Atlanta
welcomes Patz & Hall founders, Anne Moses and James Hall, to the Auction!
Founded
in 1988, Patz & Hall is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2018. From the
beginning, Patz & Hall has exemplified one philosophy: to work with only
the finest vineyards, farmed by California’s greatest growers. This focus has
led them to create lasting relationships with legendary local growers, and has
given them unprecedented access to the finest sites and clones in Sonoma
County. From these prized vineyards, Patz & Hall makes some of the New
World’s most stirring and sought-after single-vineyard Chardonnays and Pinot
Noirs — wines that have become benchmarks for their intensity, elegance, and
complexity.
The
winning couple is invited to become a “Sonoma Insider” with Patz & Hall for
two nights in Sonoma. The couple will stay at the elegant MacArthur Place Hotel
& Spa, just off the Sonoma Square. You will be treated to an exclusive
Salon Experience at the Sonoma House at Patz & Hall and get the chance to
taste several wines only available at the winery. You will also be taken to one
of the key Sonoma vineyard sites to see the blocks where the Patz & Hall
grapes are grown and to have lunch in the vineyard with the grower and
winemaker. During your stay in Sonoma, you’ll have dinner with Anne Moses and James Hall at a local restaurant, paired with a selection of
library wines from Patz & Hall.
To
share in the celebration, the winning bidder will receive 30 1.5L bottles
from six of Patz & Hall’s legendary vineyard sites — with five different
vintages from the winery’s library. A perfect way to build your cellar and to
wow your guests when you open a few bottles at your next dinner party!

Welcome winemaker Robert Hunt and general manager Jim Silver to our
events! If you don’t already know about the exceptional wines from Anderson’s
Conn Valley, take the opportunity to get to know Robert and Jim, thank them for
this divine lot, and wish them a happy 35th anniversary!
For the lucky bidders of this lot, your base for this chance-of-a-lifetime
experience will be the caves at Anderson’s Conn Valley’s estate and includes 35
vintages in a formal sit down tasting for up to 10 people. Since 1983, Conn
Valley Vineyards has been family owned and operated by the Andersons, and since
their first release in 1987, has been dedicated to producing world-class wines.
The wines will be presented by owner and winemaker Todd Anderson himself,
with Robert Hunt, winemaker, offering his input throughout. The bottles will be
pulled pristine from the cave inventory and from Todd’s personal collection.
The wines will be poured by Jim Silver, a former sommelier for Four Seasons,
and currently general manager of the winery.
There will be twenty of the best vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon Estate
Reserve and Signature, selected from the legendary 1988 to the present; ten of
the best vintages of Eloge, Conn Valley’s Bordeaux blend, which have scored as
high as 98 points with Robert Parker; as well as five vintages of the Cabernet
Franc blend “Right Bank.” Plus plenty of surprises along the way. A lengthy and
comprehensive tasting of Conn Valley wines such as this has never been
attempted before. Your participation will make it a first-ever for the winery!
Since that’s a very long day of tasting, the next day you will revisit the
caves and taste through the range of barrels that will become Conn Valley’s
2016 and 2017 vintages. Contingent on the time of year, you may participate in
a real blending session with the winemakers and help create one of the next
great bottles. Weather depending, Conn Valley’s in-house chef will cook you a
very nice luncheon outside in the vineyards — and of course, Todd will pull a
big handful of unusual and rare vintages from the cellars produced over the
years. Who knows, some great cigars and a game of bocce might break out at any
time. (In case of inclement weather, the group will shift to a very good
restaurant in St. Helena.)
While you are busy planning the big trip to the Napa Valley and inviting
friends to come along, you’ll be pleased to know this lot also comes with a
full DOZEN vintages, all in MAGNUMS, which will ship to you immediately, each
receiving rave reviews from Robert Parker or Antonio Galloni.
