lone some Conversations: Meeting Where We Are
lone some Conversations
On Thursday, we hosted the final conversation related to our public art exhibition lone some — a fantastic chat with Alyson Provax and Christina Amini entitled Meeting Where We Are
The conversation featured a showcase of public art works by Provax and the late Susan O'Malley, whose estate is stewarded by Amini. It was inspiring and extremely relevant in our present moment. If you missed it, you can watch the video here:

Added Conversation: Jennifer Johns
Added conversation: Jennifer Johns
Next Thursday, August 13 from 12-1pm, we've added a new conversation to our calendar: Follow Up On F.U.N. Join Jennifer Johns in conversation with our own Kelly Sicat, Director of the Lucas Artists Residency Program, as they discuss self-care, joy, vision, interdependence and freedom, and a whole lot more.
Johns is a performing artist, musician, and social activist who has been a regular guest at the LAP in recent years. Her newest project has been a journey to discover people's perspectives on freedom called The F.U.N. Manifesto.

Gardening with Ann
Online Summer Art Class: Pressed Flower Prints
A lot has changed since we launched our #socialARTsolation initiative back in April. You may have started your own creative projects by making art, gardening, baking sourdough, or whatever else has inspired you. You may have binge watched dozens of movies and TV shows. You may have found new ways to spend socially-distanced time with friends and loved ones.
But as the pandemic continues, we are still in need of inspiration and creative outlets. Many of us are still staying home and remain mostly isolated. So, #socialARTsolation continues!
Visit our page of creative content; find fresh music by LAP artists, partner organizations, and Carriage House regularsget some gardening tips in a delightful video series featuring our own Ann Northrup (pictured above); revisit our weekly artist conversations; and be inspired! Share your own artistic quarantine endeavors using the hashtag and we may feature it on our stream.
Meanwhile, we hope you'll keep up the hard work of staying safe and healthy as we continue to work together to overcome this crisis. And if we haven't seen you online or at Montalvo lately, we hope to see you very soon!
