CJ Miller is a Dallas based abstract artist with a background in graphic design and advertising who started a career in fine art around 20 years ago. He has since also become a speaker holding various talks and workshops across the country. In 2021 he also became an author and podcaster with a book and podcast both titled The Spiritual Artist. Miller's newest body of work, now on display at the Eisemann Center, is titled Love RollerCoaster, a sequel to his collection from last year titled Emotional RollerCoaster. The series explores the many variations of love one can experience and the ups and downs that come with it. It is an immersive show in which every piece has a song that inspired it. The artist has encouraged patrons to bring a pair of headphones to listen along as they walk the gallery to get the full experience. A QR code linked to each song are available on the title cards of the paintings.
"Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs, and what’s wrong with that? Every day, our emotions take us on a rollercoaster ride of thrilling ascents and sharp curves, but love unites us. Emotions, fluid and often temporary, are part of the human experience—meant to be felt, but not always acted upon."
A First Fridays reception is scheduled for September 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Green Mezzanine Gallery. An opportunity to enjoy lite bites, meet the artist, and wander the gallery with your fellow local art lovers!
