Our next edition of BBC Introducing from The Glasshouse is in partnership with The Georgian Theatre in Stockton, taking place on Saturday 4 July. Expect a headline set from Michael Gallagher, along with performances from Risco and Anna Karila. Be sure to secure your place - it's set to be a brilliant evening of new music and emerging talent.

The next date for our 2026 BAPAM clinic will be Friday 12 June from 10am - 2pm. The British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) is the UK's leading provider of career-specific healthcare for performers, and we're pleased to have partnered with them to run a monthly clinic here at The Glasshouse, see the full dates on our BAPAM page.

This free development programme will offer you 24 weeks of online lessons, masterclasses from industry experts, and networking events to boost your music career. Apply now and be taken through - Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced levels of Ableton.

MOBO Amplified is a 12-month programme by Youth Music supporting musicians creating music of Black origin to grow sustainable careers. Through mentoring, business advice, industry access and funding of up to £3,000, the programme is designed to help you overcome barriers and take the next step. Only 15 places are available.

Delivered by Brighter Sound, System Flow is a commission exploring creativity, technology, and process in sonic practice. Designed and led by sound artist Vicky Clarke, music makers and sound artists are invited to explore the role of systems, rituals and ways of thinking in their sonic practice. This will take place between July and September 2026.

ArtsAdmin are thrilled to launch IMMERSION LAB in collaboration with PROJEKT EUROPA – a brand new opportunity to dive deep into distinct global methodologies that expand your creative toolkit through embodied research, international practice and fearless experimentation. Their first lab will be an intensive, hands-on laboratory where you’ll generate new work by activating archives, documentary material and verbatim interviews, guided by migrant artists working across cultures and disciplines. Fee of £300 per participant.
When? Monday 29 June - Friday 3 July 2026 at Toynbee Studios, London
Caillagh is the first opera written in the Manx language – yn chied opera Gaelgagh. It is being created as part of Blein ny Gaelgey, the year of the Manx language. As part of this project, the Talland Quartet are offering a rare opportunity to Isle of Man composers to have their work professionally performed alongside the premiere of Caillagh. The performance will take place in at St German’s Cathedral in Peel on Friday 25 September. This is your chance to have your music performed by these exceptional musicians.

The 2027 Austin Winter Music Festival (January 3-8, 2027) is an opportunity for music makers to create, workshop, document and premiere original work in Austin, TX. Composers, festival alumni and solo musicians/groups/bands (local and out-of-town) are all welcome to apply.

Laying the groundwork for an emerging regional network of scholars, this one-day symposium seeks to examine what musical ‘training’ means outside of the traditional binary of reading vs not reading music notation. With an emphasis on popular musics, Northumbria University invite all kinds of music thinkers, makers, and facilitators to submit an abstract for a 15-minute talk, workshop, or demonstration. STAVE/OFF will be a jam-packed day of networking and brainstorming.
Contributions could include biographical approaches to particular musicians, scenes, or genres; analyses of particular recordings or performances; reflections on songwriting practice; theoretical approaches to informal/autodidactic music education, and many more.
Submission
Send an overview of what you would like to talk about along with a short biography of about 100 words. If you are including a performance, please make this clear. Participants will be selected both on the strength of their submission and with an aim of assembling a varied programme. A limited number of travel bursaries are available - please let them know in your application if you would like to be considered for one of these, along with where you will be travelling from.

RPS (Royal Philharmonic Society) have always supported composers to write music that inspires performers and audiences. In this, they have enjoyed a particularly happy association with the composer Thea Musgrave. Thea and Peter have generously agreed to replenish the fund, and they are now welcoming applications for a second year. There are two initiatives for which you can apply: RPS Thea Musgrave Composition Grants and RPS Thea Musgrave Performance Grants.

Sunny Govan Community Radio are offering grants of up to £1,500 to support Hip Hop artists, creatives and culture-builders across Scotland. The bursary is open to individuals, creative practitioners and collectives working in Hip Hop culture. This includes things like rap / MCing, DJing, music production, breaking and street dance, graffiti, street art, and more. The fund can support small-scale creative projects, professional development, new ideas, collaborations and the people helping build Hip Hop culture in Scotland from the ground up.

Are you a creative innovator or trail-blazing organisation working with children and young people? Do you have a spark of an idea and need funding and support in realising your ambition? Then Innovate is for you. Innovate is Sound Connections' small-grants programme, offering four grants of £2,000 to individuals and grassroots organisations to pilot new music ideas with children and young people aged 0-25. The programme is designed to support early-stage, exploratory projects that test new approaches, reach new audiences, or develop your practice.

Grand Plan was created by a trio of artists in Spring 2021 to award £1,000 grants to artists of colour in the UK. Since launching in May 2021, they have awarded over 150 grants. Their grantees have written children's books, made short films, produced Indian classical dance, launched trans music nights, set up black community archives, and so much more.

The charity seeks to promote the works of British composers by supporting the performance of compositions that have been undeservedly neglected. They have so far awarded total grants of over £50,000. The charity supports a range of costs, normally up to £1,000, to facilitate the performance of deserving works by a composer, either living or dead, born in or resident in the UK.
Deadline: End of July 2026
UK businesses are invited to apply for the latest funding call from the CoSTAR Network. Applicants can apply for between £20,000 and £50,000 to prototype, test, and showcase technology focused on Intelligent Venues. These are adaptive, data-driven environments that sense, interpret, and react in real time, blending spatial audio, lighting, visuals, and interaction design to create truly responsive live experiences.

DYCP is a funding programme by Arts Council England that supports you as an individual creative and cultural practitioner to focus on your career development. The programme encourages development by allowing you to learn, innovate and take creative risks. It's all about you and making a meaningful shift in your practice that leads to future opportunities. Grants of up to £12,000 are available.

Summerhall Arts Studios are dedicated residencies for the early development of new theatre and cross-disciplinary live performance work. They are designed to give artists and collaborators time and space to test ideas, explore approaches, and begin shaping work intended for live audiences. They are particularly interested in projects that benefit from working in real space: testing form, staging, sound, and movement.

Attitude is Everything are inviting disabled audiences, artists, and workers across the UK to take part in their 2026 State of Access Survey. This survey is a UK-wide research project exploring the experiences of disabled audiences, artists, and workers within live music events, venues, and festivals. The research aims to better understand access barriers within live music and how the industry can improve accessibility and inclusion.
UNLIMITED have created a guide called 'Going Global' – your go to guide for navigating the exciting, challenging, and rewarding world of international creative work, tailored for disabled artists. Inside, you'll find practical advice on safety and planning, honest interviews with disabled artists who've done it, top tips for smooth international travel, and a curated list of resources to keep you informed and inspired.
CreativeScene and The Terrace in Dewsbury are working together to provide music-related mentoring events for people aged 18 - 25. This is an opportunity for people who to be a DJ, promoter or a gigging musician to let people know what support they need.

Artsadmin’s Homework Club is a welcoming space for performance-based and multi-disciplinary artists, producers, and creatives to come together, learn, and make progress on their projects. This Homework Club series focuses on Arts Council England's Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) fund (Round 24). The fund supports individual artists and creative practitioners to take time to research, experiment, and develop their creative practice.

Join Nrthrn Baby at Independent Sunderland to hear all about Groundworks - a new touring songwriting camp from Generator and Nrthrn Baby. Designed to spark collaboration between songwriters, producers, artists and musicians across the North East, Groundworks focuses on genres including rap, grime, R&B, amapiano and afrobeats. Touring across Gateshead, Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland, the programme aims to connect local communities and talent pools while championing the idea that quality music can be created anywhere.
