In the Spotlight

A Top Night at Top Hat!

In March we enjoyed welcoming new Patrons and supporters to discover more about our Access provision as part of our Festival programme. Chilina Madon, Executive Director, Charlotte Boyer, Access Lead, Jacci Boraston, Festival Access Hub Lead and Rachel Bromfield from our Fundraising Team shared updates about our Festivals programme and the support we provide for disadvantaged local community groups and those with additional needs.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming Top Hat Company Manager Matt Elesmore and cast member James Hume for a Q+A. They recounted touring experiences and some behind-the-scenes insights into the production - they also happened to mention what a joy it was to perform in Birmingham!

Making an 'Arts' Impact!
Our recent Access and Community focused campaign

This Spring we took part in Big Give's Arts for Impact campaign and we'd like to share a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our wonderful supporters who took part. Thanks to nearly 150 donors, The Oakley Trust, The Grimmitt Charitable Trust and our charity champion Reed Foundation, plus Gift Aid, we've raised a fantastic total of over £30,000!

The funds raised enable us to continue providing vital resources for vulnerable communities and those with additional needs so that everyone can experience world‑class arts and culture without barriers. Our ambition as a charity is to ensure that all visitors at our festivals can feel the positive social and wellbeing benefits that the arts bring.

We look forward to welcoming you to Weekender this August bank holiday to see and experience the impact of your support first hand.

Origins Festival logo

Origins Festival launches soon!

Our week-long Origins Festival takes place from Mon 11 to Sat 16 May. This spectacular event is the culmination of an 18-month artist development programme which brings the creative vision of eight local artists to life on our Patrick Studio stage.

The New Work & Artist Development department exists to support the development of the West Midlands as a region of artistic excellence. We are so grateful to our charitable supporters who allow this vital work to take place!

If you are booking tickets for any shows on the following evenings we would be delighted for you to join us for a pre-show drink with fellow supporters and guests on Wed 13 May from 6pm or Thu 14 May from 6pm. Drop us a line if you have a ticket ...

Oh what a night at Priscilla Queen of the Desert

In March we hosted Supporters at Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Jon Gilchrist, Artistic Director & Chief Executive, and Catherine Mallyon, Chair of our Board, were in attendance with other Trustees.

At the event, guests were treated to a special presentation of new LED lighting installed in the Patrick Studio and a short backstage tour of the Tales from Acorn Wood set.

The event and the purchase of the new LED lighting was made possible through a grant award from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Thank you to all of our capital supporters who help to maintain and improve our world class facilities, enabling us to present mesmerising onstage experiences!
