HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I miss the every day observations of curiosity and wonder as I passed students on their field trip to Science World. However, I am proud of what we  accomplished last year. Our YouTube channel is packed with new demos, our Resources have been polished and new links added, and we are delivering programs to remote BC communities daily.

Our school support team is preparing for 2021 to be ground-breaking as we prepare for a new feature exhibition to arrive in late February. Anticipating similar restrictions to travel brings this new challenge: how can we share the incredible information in this exhibition and provide a 'virtual field trip' experience? Watch out for more information on this exciting new project.

Most importantly: Tech-Up, our computational thinking and digital skills project, is reaching the end of a funding cycle and I encourage you to book a FREE virtual workshop for your grade 2-9 class as soon as possible. Find out more below.

TECH-UP CODING VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS

In these workshops, tailored to grade level curriculum connections for ADST, a Tech-Up facilitator leads a session for your students to understand the fundamentals of coding and computational thinking through multiple activities that support learning.

"I was nervous beforehand as I have no experience as a teacher with online workshops for kids, but things went smoothly. I appreciated being sent a list beforehand, along with a brief video for reference. We are going to take what we learned today and keep practicing, so eventually we can work on our own Scratch projects together.
