IVCI's longtime Director of Development Sorbera retires after nearly 18 years

This month, we celebrate our dear friend and colleague, Mary Jane Sorbera, who has faithfully served as the IVCI’s Director of Development since 2008.

Mary Jane arrived in Indianapolis nearly 30 years ago, lending her talents to organizations across the city including Coburn Place and the Heartland Film Festival. But it was here at the IVCI where she truly found her home. Her greatest joys came from meeting the Competition participants (learning their stories and enjoying their musicianship), collaborating with colleagues, and cultivating deep, lasting relationships with the Competition's devoted patrons, which earned her enormous respect throughout the industry.

"Mary Jane's length of service is a true rarity in the Development world," said IVCI Executive Director Glen Kwok, "and we are grateful for the passion which she brought to the job from start to finish!"

As Mary Jane reaches her final day in the office this Friday, August 29, we thank her for nearly two decades of dedication, and celebrate the incredible impact she has had on this community and her teammates. She now looks forward to beginning her next chapter, enjoying retirement alongside her husband.

Congratulations, MJ! You will be missed!
