AGA100 Free for All Anniversary Wall

We’re remixing our beloved 2007 exhibition Free for All in time for the AGA’s 100th Anniversary and we need your help! Submit your art to be part of a vibrant digital mural in our Main Hall – the AGA100 Free for All Anniversary Wall. The deadline to digitally submit your art is June 16.

Free Admission for Seniors | Seniors' Week

In honour of Seniors’ Week (June 3 to 9), seniors get free admission to the AGA during our general admission hours! Come by and enjoy our exhibitions, programming and more!

AGA100 Exhibition Launch Party

June 14, 6pm

Join us as we launch our 100th Anniversary celebrations and exhibition openings that explore the past, celebrate Indigenous creativity, feature important works in the AGA Collection and more. Expect live entertainment, exhibition access, cash bar and door prizes – you won’t want to miss out!

Celebrate Pride Day

June 27, 11am-7pm

Celebrate LOVE in all its forms at our annual Pride Day at your AGA! We’re showing our colours and opening our arms to community with an array of programs throughout the day, including an art market, a drag workshop, performances, film screenings and a special animation of Love Empire hosted by Evolution WonderLounge. 

Our Pride Market is presented by Canadian Western Bank as part of our Empowering Arts & Business market series.



National Indigenous History Month

Curator’s Tour | Records and Remembrance

June 6, 6-7pm

Kick off National Indigenous History Month with a tour led by Associate Curator and Collections Manager Danielle Siemens! Learn more about the living Indigenous and Canadian women artists in the AGA Collection. Capacity is limited; register today!

This exhibition is presented by the Capital Power Indigenous Art Fund.

Artist Workshop | Porcupine Pendants

June 9, 1-3pm

In this workshop led by Alaynee Goodwill-Littlechild, create a porcupine quill pendant using your unique constellation zodiac sign. 

Quillwork is the oldest form of art for the Sioux tribes and exclusive to North America. The porcupine quills are collected, cleaned and dyed using natural or commercial dye. The quill is then wrapped, woven or embroidered on the hide.

Cinema for Seniors 

June 14, 2-4pm

Calling all seniors – enjoy a fascinating documentary about Kwakwaka'wakw wood carving artist and activist Beau Dick! Tickets are $5 or free with our Barrier-free ticket. After the film, we invite you to join us in our studios for a lively discussion, tea and treats.

About the film: Maker of Monsters: The Extraordinary Life of Beau Dick (2017) documents the unique life of the legendary Kwakwaka'wakw wood carving artist and activist Beau Dick - following his life from the Northwest Coast of British Columbia through his artistic process and carving his celebrated one-of-a-kind masks. 

National Indigenous History Month

June 21, 11am-5pm

Join us as we celebrate the rich cultural heritage, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous peoples to our community and beyond. After opening remarks by Elder Gilman Cardinal, enjoy a public tour highlighting Indigenous Artists in the AGA Collection and a film screening of Rosie (2022).

Admission is free thanks to the Capital Power Indigenous Art Fund.
