It is one of The Stage’s must-see shows of 2023 and What’s On Stage Critic’s pick: Top shows to see in 2023 but there is only one week left of our very special 40th anniversary production of Top Girls. You can easily turn that might-see to a will-see for our must-see play by booking tickets here. We have matinees on Thursday and Saturday this week, but our final performance will be on the evening of Sat 25 Mar. Updates

• Today marks the last week of performances of Caryl Churchill’s Top Girls. We have some great post-show discussions lined up for this week so please check if there is anything on around your visit and join us if you can. Full list of post-show events here. It’s a show you’ll want to talk about afterwards. You can book tickets for the show itself here. Performances every day this week until our final performance on Sat 25 Mar.


• Rehearsals continue for Adjoa Andoh’s blistering new production of Shakespeare’s Richard III. You can watch Andoh discuss her ideas and process here. The show will be landing at the Playhouse on Thur 6 Apr and running through till Sat 22 Apr. Sweeten up your winter of discontent into a nice late spring of just plain content by buying your tickets here.

Notices and Opportunities

• The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester are recruiting a Young People Coordinator. The postholder will work closely with the Children and Young People Producer to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of the Young People’s Programmes. Applications in by Mon 27 Mar. They are also recruiting a Sound Deputy, who will work with the Sound Lead to coordinate the delivery and maintenance of sound resources on and off site. Applications in by Tue 11 Apr.


• It is also the Royal Exchange Theatre’s month-long script submission window for playwrights based in the North West. This runs until Fri 31 Mar. Read more about what they are looking for and how to submit here.


• Shakespeare North Playhouse are looking for a Project Producer to join their Learning team. Reporting to the Senior Producer, this role will curate and deliver a programme of works for the Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and The Studio. You need minimum two-years’ experience with producing co-pros and small to mid-scale theatre productions to apply. Cut off date is Fri 21 Apr.


• There are also a couple of interesting call outs for actors from Shakespeare North Playhouse. This call out is for actors from the Liverpool City Region who enjoy improvisation and physical theatre to be part of Ben Crystal’s Lights On Lights Off. Auditions are 2-4pm on Sat 25 Mar and performances on Sat 22 and Sun 23 Apr. Information re how to apply here. The theatre is also running an 8-week professional development course led by Jimmy Fairhurst. It is open to persons aged 16-30 and will include sessions on audition preparation as well as 1-2-1 mentorship. Here are the details.

What's on

• The Unity is hosting the tour of Kandinsky’s The Winston Machine on Tue 28 and Wed 29 Mar. It moves between the 1940s and the 2020s, between the past and its ghosts in the present, to ask: what happens when there’s no war left to fight? You can get tickets for £6 if you are part of the Unity’s Creative’Pool. If you are a creative and have not signed up yet you can do so by filling out this form.


• No, it is not too early to be thinking about your Eurovision plans. We’re hosting a Eurovision Final Screening Party on The Big Night (Sat 13 May). There will be song, there will be dance, there will be a europop dance party until 2am. We’d love to see you there. We’re also excited to be part of EuroFestival with our friends at Sheep Soup, details to follow!
