San Francisco Semester Alumni Spotlights

Annie Wang

Annie Wang (SFS Spring '24)

SFS Alum Annie Wang will be performing in Gumiho at Theatre Rhinoceros, taking on the roles of Janette, Bonnie, and Nancy. She departed from SFS with a keen interest in contributing to the development of new works, so she is particularly thrilled to be involved in this project – a West Coast premiere of a play by contemporary playwright, written by Nina Ki. The show is directed by Crystal Liu and runs April 17–May 11. Tickets and more information can be found here.

About the show
Kam, an ex-reality TV star and player in the LA queer scene, has recently undergone a breakup with her longtime girlfriend, Janette. Through a series of casual hookups, Kam eventually comes to realize that the scene has changed while she has been away, and that what she truly craves is a real connection.

MFA Alumni Spotlights

Avanthika Srinivasan

Avanthika Srinivasan (MFA '19)

A.C.T. MFA Alum Avanthika Srinivasan has been cast in Huntington Theatre Company's production of The Triumph of Love written by Marivaux, translated by Stephen Wadsworth, and directed by Loretta Greco. Avanthika will be playing the role of Corrine. The show runs March 7–April 6. Please show her your love and support! Tickets and more information can be found HERE.

About the show
Love takes center stage in this uproarious classic French comedy by 18th century playwright Pierre Carlet de Marivaux. A clever princess is smitten at first sight – but to win her prince, she must woo him in disguise. Mistaken identities, hilarious complications and deeply felt desire collide head on with Rationalist Philosophy – and surprising romantic entanglements ensue! Artistic Director Loretta Greco stages Stephen Wadsworth’s magnificent adaptation which inspired a passion for Marivaux in America anew.

SFS Spring 2025 Cohort at the Exploratorium!

One of the many distinct benefits of the San Francisco Semester program is its commitment to share Bay Area culture. The SFS team does this by teaching a Cultural Landscapes course as well as taking their students on exploratory outings in the San Francisco Bay Area. What better place to begin exploring than the Exploratorium? The cohort greatly enjoyed their time on this SF adventure!
