Melanie Brannan is a Dallas based artist with a background in Advertising and Graphic Design who closed her design firm in 2009 to pursue a career in painting. With a lifelong passion and talent for fine art, it is no surprise Brannan found her way there! Melanie started as a commission painter and has since become a teacher of her craft and had 6 solo exhibitions in the last 4 years. She is inspired by compassion, truth, and respect. Her keen eye for color, stroke, and subject matter now extends to capturing joy, hope and compassion for this exhibition.
Camp Magic benefits Camp Esperanza, a summer camp offering children with cancer a week of joy, adventure, and normalcy with the help of volunteers and medical professionals. Having lost a dear friend to cancer, Melanie was deeply moved by the mission of the camp and is dedicated to painting with a purpose. Not only does the collection help raise funds for the camp, it also inspires hope, joy, and compassion, and celebrates the memory of some of those lost to cancer.
Experience the sights, sounds, and textures of summer camp in Melanie's paintings and assemblage pieces in this exhibit. From Oreos to swimming, landscapes and animals, get acquainted with the magic of childhood as well as the message of hope in symbols of doves and rainbows.
