A tense psychological thriller that examines the Caribbean’s colonial legacy through the story of three women. Wealthy teenager Sara and her nanny Yarisa have an intimate mother/daughter relationship. But after moving back to Yarisa's hometown and reuniting with her biological daughter, a tragic incident occurs that exposes the deep social tears between them.
Scalarama Leeds Film Festival 2022 is nearly here - a celebration of cinema, for everyone, by everyone, everywhere, taking place every September. Screenings are organized by a variety of film lovers across the city in a range of different non-traditional cinema spaces.

Good news for anyone who missed our previous LIFF Presents screenings Fire of Love and Laurent Garnier: Off the Record as both films are screening this month. Other highlights include the directorial debut of Charlotte Colbert with the psychological horror She Will and Fadia's Tree - a remarkable documentary about memory and migration in association with Leeds Palestinian Film Festival.
The astonishing true story of Scotland’s most notorious impostor, Brandon Lee, a popular, top-of-the-class secondary school student hiding a big secret. Alan Cumming acts as an avatar to Lee, lipsynching his audio interviews. The documentary will be be screened at the Pictureville Cinema in the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford from 19 August.
An eccentric and aging millionaire, desperate to leave behind a legacy commissions two egomaniacs (played by Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas) to create an motion picture together in this sharp comedy skewering wealth, art, and pride. Showing at Pictureville Cinema from 26 August.

Our exceptionally talented Volunteers are the heart of LIFF and are vital to the success of the Festival each and every year. There is the opportunity to assist in a variety of roles between 3-17 November, gaining valuable experience and being part of the team of one of the UK's biggest film events.
As part of the preparation for our new Disability Futures Programme we are conducting a survey to find out more about the film festival and cinema experiences of disabled audiences in Leeds, which will help to inform improvements made to festival accessibility. All submitted surveys will be entered into a prize draw to win a £40 Amazon voucher.
