What does Groundling mean?

Despite it giving you the best view in the theatre, historically, standing in the Yard area of the Globe – as a ‘groundling’ – wasn’t always as desirable as you might think. But what does ‘groundling’ actually mean and what did Shakespeare think of them? That is the question in the newest episode of our YouTube series.
