Ravel Daphnis and Chloe

Spanish conductor Gustavo Gimeno leads the CSO in a program demonstrating why Ravel is a classical music master, whether capturing the sensuous allure of Spain in Rapsodie espagnole or summoning “the Greece of [his] dreams” in his ravishing suite from Daphnis and Chloe. Barber’s Second Essay reflects the turbulent emotions of wartime. CSO Principal Clarinet Stephen Williamson solos in the world premiere of Indigo Heaven, a work written for him by American composer Christopher Theofanidis.

Discover how music can help us understand and share our feelings. Born of a life filled with joy and sorrow, love and pain, the music of Tchaikovsky pulses with strong emotions. Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser and members of the CSO present the Russian composer’s courageous journey and demonstrate how music helps all of us express our emotions.

Jimmy López: Inner Dialogues

Peruvian composer Jimmy López curates a diverse program featuring his works La Caresse du Couteau and Guardian of the Horizon, alongside works by Pierre Boulez, Quinn Mason and Adam Schoenberg. The concert experience includes a casual afterparty in the Rotunda hosted by the Latino Alliance, offering a chance to connect with the artists and delve into innovative contemporary music.

You will be prompted to add the free reception ticket after selecting your seats for the concert. Both a concert ticket and reception ticket are required for entry. For questions or assistance, contact Patron Services.

Showcasing Education & Community Engagement at the CSO

Join us for Impact to celebrate education and community engagement at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Be inspired by the musicians who are learning, growing and serving Chicago through the programs produced by the Negaunee Music Institute at the CSO. Enjoy a showcase of extraordinary performances by the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, musicians from the CSO, Percussion Scholarship Program students and Young Artists Competition winner Jaden Teague-Núñez. Plus, hear works from the Notes for Peace program and Young Composers Initiative. Transform lives by supporting these vital education and community engagement activities.

Risas y Ritmo: Where Laughter & Rhythm Meet

Ensemble Español’s premier comedy fundraising event with superstar comedians Ana Belaval, from WGN TV, and Gwen La Roka, HBO Latino, with special musical guests Gypsy Influence, Alberto and Adrian Alvarez. Don’t miss out on the fun — grab your friends and come on down to Risas y Ritmo!  

The proceeds from this event will support the American Spanish Dance and Music Festival. Risas y Ritmos: Where Laughter & Ryhthm Meet is a part of the Comedy for a Cause series.


Spring 2025 Meet-Up Days

Announcing a new social opportunity for members of CSOA affinity groups: Meet-Up Days! These events are opportunities for members of the African American Network, Latino Alliance, the League, Overture Council and other affinity groups to meet and mingle, grab a drink and enjoy a Civic Orchestra of Chicago performance together.

Affinity group members will meet at the listed location at 5:30 p.m. and then walk to Symphony Center for the concert. Please reserve your concert tickets in advance to avoid lines at the Box Office prior to the performance.
