Celebrate Earth Week at the CAC
Explore innovations from architects and urban planners championing the fight against climate change in our new exhibition, Energy Revolution. Learn how we can create a carbon-free city in Chicago and worldwide.
"We humans have self-inflicted a Climate Emergency, traceable to our self-destructive production and waste of energy," says Doug Farr, co-curator of Energy Revolution. "The urgency compels us to stage an ENERGY REVOLUTION, not led by government but led by us, The People. This exhibit will inform and empower you on how to make a difference on climate."
Celebrating its 40th year, the Newhouse Architecture and Design Competition continues to inspire teens to understand why design matters. The competition was founded by Senator Richard Newhouse who recognized a lack of opportunities to introduce low-income and minority students to careers in architecture. Learn more about the impact of the competition.

April is Art Deco Month, honoring the architectural style that reflected the celebration and extravagance of the Roaring Twenties. Start your Art Deco journey by exploring five of Chicago's Art Deco buildings and check out our special walking tours Art Deco Skyscrapers: The Loop and Art Deco Skyscrapers: The Riverfront.
During Volunteer Appreciation Month, we want to highlight our hundreds of dedicated volunteers who share the stories of Chicago's architecture every day. Whether you meet them during a tour around the city, on a cruise on the river or in the halls of the Center, join us in thanking them for all they do!
