Ode to Joy TONIGHT

SAT | AUG 14 | 8-10 P.M.
GILMORE CAR MUSEUM

Ode to Joy on August 14 at 8 p.m. at the Gilmore Car MuseumPlan to join us tonight, Saturday, August 14, at the Gilmore Car Museum for the joyful close of our summer Century Celebration concert series.

The concert opens with Aaron Copland’s majestic Fanfare for the Common Man, then we will treat you to the breathtaking "Coronation Scene" from Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov before closing with Beethoven's inspiring and uplifting Ninth Symphony.

We're thrilled to share the stage with four internationally acclaimed soloists — Soprano Caitlin Lynch, Mezzo-Soprano Melody Wilson, Tenor Ben Gulley, and Bass Baritone Scott Conner — and the newly formed KSO Chorus for the final movement!

The details: The concert should last approximately 2 hours, including an intermission. Stop by our tent outside the main museum building if you have questions and to learn about our upcoming concerts.

NEED TICKETS? General-admission $25 lawn tickets and a limited number of $100 reception tickets are available in advance on our website and at the door. Credit cards and cash are accepted at the door, and we open at 6 p.m.

ALREADY HAVE TICKETS? We look forward to seeing you! Doors open at 6 p.m. through the main museum entrance in the Heritage Center. Please bring an electronic or printed copy of your tickets, if you have them. We also can look up your tickets when you arrive, if you don't have a copy of your tickets.

What if I don't have my tickets? If you lose or didn't receive your electronic tickets, please come to the concert as scheduled, where we can help you at the entrance gate!

Where do I park? Parking is free and is located in front of the museum. Accessible parking is on the paved areas, and general parking is beyond that. Volunteers and KSO staff will help direct you. Please allow at least 5-10 minutes to make your way to the show area.

Where do I enter? The admissions area is through the main museum door in the Heritage Center

Will the car museum exhibits be open to visit when I arrive? The Gilmore Car Museum is keeping several buildings open for you to visit until the start of the show, including the Main Gallery (Corvette Exhibit), Carriage House, Shell Station, Pedal Car Barn, Motorcycle Gallery, and Campania Barn.

Is there a rain date? Today's weather is gorgeous, and we do not anticipate having to postpone the concert. In the unlikely event that we are rained out, we will announce the postponement decision by 4:30 p.m. The concert's rain date is Sunday, August 15, at 8 p.m. at the Gilmore Car Museum.

May I bring food to the concert? Concessions are available on site: George & Sally's Blue Moon Diner, as well as The Grill, will serve food and beverages before and during the concert.
