Community Tour | 'Black Every Day' with Anna Edwards from Cariwest

On Friday, July 30 Anna Edwards, president of Cariwest Festival, will lead a virtual community tour of ‘Black Every Day’ This exhibition celebrates 15 years of 5 Artists 1 Love, an organization promoting the vibrancy of the African Canadian community.

Join us for a digital visit to Emmanuel Osahor’s studio where you will have a chance to see a behind-the-scene view of his artwork in progress. He will also speak about his recent work currently on display at the Art Gallery of Alberta in the exhibition The Scene. This studio visit is part of the public program for the exhibition The Scene at the AGA, curated by Lindsey Sharman and Danielle Siemens.

Student Showcase | Screening and Social

The AGA is thrilled to partner with MacEwan University and the University of Alberta to showcase a wide variety of student work in film and video. Running until August 2 from 10am to 10pm at our AGA Sidewalk Cinema. To celebrate these students' works we will be hosting a social and screening July 29 from 5 to 7pm.  

The event is free to attend and open to the public. Join us!

Theatres in ancient Greece were open-air places to view spectacles or plays. The City of Edmonton Terrace is the perfect spot to stage our own outdoor play-house. Join us for some improv theatre games before collaborating with us on an original production.

Join us on Thursday, July 29 to experience the Art Hive! A weekly community-based art making initiative with AGA educators and students from St. Stephen’s College Art Therapy program. It is FREE and open to all, every Thursday from 12-1pm.
