According to an recent email from Michigan Nonprofit Association, The Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission (ICRC) ended its collaborative map building process with three maps each for Congress, state Senate and state House. Here's the process going forward:
-Regardless of whether there are additional maps outside of the nine, the public will get 45 days to weigh in on which map they prefer. To review the map drafts and comment, click here.
- On Dec. 30, the Commission is slated to return to approve final maps for House, Senate and Congress. A final map will need at least seven votes -- two Republicans, two Democrats, two independents and one more among the 13.
- If no map receives the necessary combination of votes, the winning map will be decided based on ranked-choice voting. If that doesn't settle the matter, the Secretary of State will pick the winning map at random among those submitted.

As of an Oct. 20 Americans for the Arts update, the appropriations bills call for $182.5 million for each the NEA and NEH. That’s a $15 million increase, which is half of what the House provided (they approved a $33 mil. increase to $201 mil. for the NEA). There is a possibility that the final amount might be a compromise between the House and Senate and set higher than $182.5 mil. If approved, the Senate increase would be the largest since FY 2008, and the House increase would be the largest in history.
