Dear friends,

I am delighted to share the news that Montalvo has been named this year's Most Elegant Wedding Venue in the San Francisco Bay Area by LUX Life Magazine!
Montalvo has a long tradition as a wedding venue. In 2012, we hosted The Wedding of the Century as part of our historic Villa's centennial. Over 70 couples that were married at Montalvo throughout the years came back to renew their vows—including one couple that was wed in 1966. I am humbled that so many people choose to celebrate their love, and begin a new chapter of their lives right here.

Although some of you may have had to alter your celebration plans, there is much to be optimistic about as the world slowly phases into reopening. Every day, we are receiving inquiries about reservations for wedding dates in 2021 and beyond. It warms my heart to know that love still is the answer—even in a pandemic.
And, speaking of love, here’s a poem that has been a touchstone in my life, first when I found it in a book at a church rummage sale in NYC at the tender age of 24, at the birth of my twins, a decade later, and then again at their sister’s birth a few years after that. (And, by the way, the twins graduated college earlier this month.)

Love Comes Quietly

Love comes quietly,

finally, drops

about me, on me

in the old ways.

What did I know

thinking myself

able to go

alone all the way.
